17 River Banks

17 River Banks is a single-storey timber lodge on the Rosecraddoc estate on the edge of Liskeard, with communal grounds and a riverside position alongside the River Seaton. Two bedrooms sleep 5 - a double and a bunk room with three berths - with one bathroom and a washing machine. Off-road parking is included alongside the lodge, and dog-friendly access extends to the communal gardens and riverside paths.

Golitha Falls, a National Nature Reserve where the River Fowey drops through a series of waterfalls in ancient oak woodland at the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, is a short drive north. Liskeard town centre with independent shops, weekly market, and a railway station with direct services to Plymouth and Penzance is 2 miles. The estate itself has communal facilities and grounds for children.

This lodge is good for families with young children or dogs looking for a contained rural setting with easy access to Bodmin Moor walking and south coast beaches. The bunk room makes it practical for a family of 5 in two distinct sleeping spaces. It is not great for beach-first holidays: East Looe Beach is 14km and there is no direct walking route to the coast from the property.

The fishing port of Looe, with its narrow streets, shark fishing trips, and twice-daily tides in the inner harbour, is 14km south. Fowey is approximately 16km. The Eden Project is 11 miles west.
