2 Cliff Cottages

A stone cottage on the cliffs at West Portholland, sitting directly above the beach within the Roseland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Two bedrooms sleep 3: a king-size with sea views across Portholland Bay, and a second room with a day bed. There is one bathroom. A sea-facing patio holds a private hot tub with views south along the coast toward Nare Head.

At low tide, West Portholland and East Portholland beaches merge into a single stretch of sand, accessible by steps directly below the cottage. Porthluney Bay - a sheltered sandy cove with a National Trust car park - is 1.8km along the coast path. Gorran Haven, with a working fishing harbour and a 16th-century fish cellar, is 5.7km to the south.

The garden wraps around the front and side of the cottage with direct views over the water. A dishwasher and wifi are provided. Changeovers fall on Mondays and Fridays only. The village itself has no shop - Mevagissey, 6km north, is the nearest town for provisions, with several fish restaurants and a weekly farmers market.

Ideal for couples or a small group of three who want a remote coastal position with a hot tub and sea views. The single bathroom and no washing machine make longer stays better suited to those travelling light. Not great for guests needing reliable mobile signal, as coverage in the valley is limited.
