Ash

Ash is a single-storey one-bedroom cottage at Tredown Farm near Saltash, sleeping 2 with 1 bathroom. The main draw is a private hot tub with river views across the Tamar, set in a rural position close to the Devon border. Wi-fi, parking, and an enclosed garden are included.

Whitsand Bay - a continuous 3-mile sweep of sand backed by high cliffs - is 3.5 miles south. Downderry and Kingsand beaches are both 5 miles, the latter sitting in a pair of connected fishing villages on the Rame Peninsula worth an afternoon. The peninsula is one of the quieter corners of east Cornwall, without the volume of visitors the north coast gets in summer.

Saltash, the first town in Cornwall at the Tamar crossing, is a few minutes north with a weekly market and independent shops. Plymouth is just over the bridge for bigger retail and the Brittany Ferries service to Roscoff. The Tamar Valley AONB runs between the two for walking and cycling.

Suits couples wanting a quiet rural base with a hot tub, within easy reach of south Cornwall beaches and Plymouth. Not great for guests who need self-catering facilities beyond the basics - there is no dishwasher or washing machine. Changeover Saturday.
