The beach has no facilities other than a car park, which keeps it quiet compared to Bude's main beaches. Duckpool Beach is 1.8km in the other direction. Bude town with its canal, surf shops, and cafes is a short drive south on the A3072.

The coast path along this stretch runs between high, exposed cliffs above the beach at Sandymouth - good walking country with wide Atlantic views. Kilkhampton village is a few minutes by car for a pub, shop, and post office.

The farm is set back from the road, with views over the North Cornwall countryside. Kilkhampton church, one of the larger parish churches in north Cornwall, is visible from parts of the estate. Stratton and Bude are the nearest towns for supermarkets and takeaways.
