Beach Retreat

Beach Retreat has one bedroom and a private terrace that opens off it, as well as off the living room. It is a ground-floor apartment in the Compass Point development in Carbis Bay, and the beach is 0.3 miles away. To reach it, guests follow a sloping path from the parking area and climb 25 shallow steps; the steps are not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.

The apartment sleeps two. The king-size bedroom has a TV and an en-suite bath with a shower over, and a separate shower room has a walk-in shower. The open-plan living space has a large sofa, a cream leather armchair with footstool, a glass dining table with four chairs and a TV with a full Sky package including sport and movies. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. A cot and highchair are provided, and guests bring their own cot bedding, which is why it also works for a couple with an infant.

Outside, the private terrace has sea glimpses across St Ives Bay, and a shared seaward terrace fronts the building. There is off-road parking for one car, and further parking is available in one of three visitor bays on a first-come, first-served basis. No pets are allowed and the apartment is no smoking. The shop is 0.5 miles away and the pub 0.6 miles.

Beach Retreat suits a couple, or a couple with an infant, and is less good for anyone who finds steps hard, or for a party larger than two.
