Black Rock

Black Rock is a converted two-bedroom barn at Gray Farm, Trethurgy, near St Austell, sleeping four with two en-suite bathrooms. The open-plan living area is on the ground floor, and both bedrooms have their own en-suite bathroom.

Inside, the barn has a wood burner, an open fire, and a hot tub for outdoor use - a strong set for shoulder-season stays in March or October. Wifi, off-road parking for 3 cars, a dishwasher and on-site laundry facilities are all included. Dogs are welcome. Changeover is Friday.

Carlyon Bay beach is 1.8 miles away - a wide sandy bay south of St Austell with parking close to the sand. Charlestown harbour is 2.1 miles, the historic port with a Grade I listed harbour used for tall-ship filming; the dockside is worth an hour. The Eden Project is within walking distance of Trethurgy. Charlestown beach is 2.1 miles; Porthpean is 2.6 miles.

Best for dog-owning couples or small families who want easy access to the Eden Project and south coast beaches. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking. Less good for those wanting to walk to the beach - the lanes to Carlyon Bay require a car.
