Cardew Farmhouse

Detached three-bedroom farmhouse on the edge of a working family farm near Tintagel on the North Cornwall coast, sleeping 6 across 2 king-size doubles and a twin. The setting is open countryside with views down to the sea - this stretch of the coast sits inside the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The layout opens through a conservatory entrance into the main house. A snug with wood burner takes the chill off shoulder-season evenings; the kitchen has a window framing the same countryside-and-sea view as the snug. There's a separate games room with a full pool table, two bathrooms, dishwasher, washing machine and wifi. Up to two dogs are welcome.

Outside, a large enclosed lawn gives small children and dogs room to run. The hot tub sits under an automated gazebo cover that lifts on a timer, and a covered BBQ area extends evening use of the garden.

Bossiney Cove, the small sandy cove cut into the cliffs below Tintagel, is 2.1 miles away and sits at the end of a steep coastal-path descent. Boscastle, the National Trust harbour village rebuilt after the 2004 flood, is just over a mile north. Tintagel Castle - the English Heritage site linked to the Arthurian legend, with its 2019 footbridge across the chasm - is a 10-minute drive. Tregardock Beach lies 4.5 miles south and rewards the long walk down from the cliff path with rarely-busy sand.

Best for families or two couples wanting a working-farm setting with the trade-off of countryside seclusion plus a hot tub and games room. Less good for guests who need to walk to a pub or restaurant - this is genuinely rural and a car is essential.
