Two main reception rooms - a drawing room and a wood-burner sitting room - open onto a veranda and lawned garden facing the water. Readymoney Cove - a sheltered sandy cove below St Catherine's Castle, built by Henry VIII - is around 300 metres along the coast path. The passenger ferry from Polruan quay crosses to Fowey in about 5 minutes, running frequently throughout the day. Fowey has a wide range of restaurants, independent shops, and the Daphne du Maurier Literary Centre. The National Trust's Hall Walk, a 4-mile circular route with estuary views, starts from Bodinnick ferry a mile north.

**Best for:** Large groups or extended families who want seclusion and their own beach access without giving up the option of Fowey's restaurants and harbour on the doorstep. Dog owners and walkers will get plenty from the location.

**Less good for:** Groups who need WiFi connectivity - the property does not include WiFi - or those wanting a pool or hot tub.
