Chi Lowarth

Chi Lowarth is a one-bedroom cottage on the edge of Porthleven, Cornwall's most southerly harbour town. The cottage sleeps two and sits within 1.1 miles of Porthleven Beach - a sandy stretch backed by the working harbour and its stone pier.

Inside, the living room has an open fire, which earns its place given the exposed coastal position in autumn and winter. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There is one bathroom and off-road parking. Bike and surfboard storage is provided, making this a practical base for active trips along the coast path. WiFi is included throughout.

The enclosed garden gives sheltered outdoor space. Porthleven's harbour is a 15-minute walk, where restaurants including Kota (Cornish-Asian seafood) serve the catch from local day boats. The harbour wall is a well-known storm-watching spot when Atlantic swells roll in from October onwards. Porthcew (Rinsey Cove) is 3 miles along the south-west coast path, and Praa Sands - a mile-long surf beach with RNLI lifeguard cover in summer - is 3.9 miles to the north-west.

Best for couples seeking a quiet base near Porthleven's food scene and the coast path. Less good for families or dog owners - the cottage sleeps two and pets are not permitted.
