Cloverlea Cottage

Cloverlea Cottage is a converted stable on a 220-acre private estate near Launceston in east Cornwall, on the edge of Bodmin Moor. The estate operates as a working farm with alpacas, ponies, and lamb feeding in season - an unusual feature that makes it particularly good for families with children.

The cottage has an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with exposed beams and a wood burner, plus a BBQ and garden outside. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, microwave, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Note: there is no wifi at the property.

On-site facilities include pony rides, coarse fishing, a tennis court, and the option to walk 220 acres of farmland, woods and open ground without leaving the estate. The North Cornwall coast is around 30 minutes west by car - Widemouth Bay is 22 miles, and Crackington Haven roughly the same. Bude is the nearest surf town, around 25 miles west on the A3072.

Launceston itself is a few minutes drive - a Norman castle above the town gives views across the Tamar Valley to Dartmoor, and the Launceston Steam Railway runs heritage trains through the Kensey Valley. Best for families wanting a working farm experience with Bodmin Moor and the north coast within range. Less good for beach-focused holidays or anyone needing wifi.
