The Marazion Marsh RSPB reserve, which recorded breeding bitterns for the first time in 2023, sits immediately behind the town.

Best for: couples sharing or small families who want sea views and easy access to the mount, with Penzance and west Cornwall within a short drive. Less good for: those wanting a lively evening scene - Marazion is quiet after dark, and the main choice of restaurants is in Penzance.
