Downrow Barn

Downrow Barn is a single-storey barn conversion in the hamlet of Downrow, on the north Cornish coast between Tintagel and Boscastle. It sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom with 1 bathroom, and has a private garden with off-road parking. Wi-Fi, dishwasher, and washing machine are included. Changeover is on Saturday.

Bossiney Cove Beach is around 1.2 miles from the barn - a small, isolated beach reached via steep steps cut into the cliff, with a natural rock arch visible at low tide. Tregardock Beach, accessible only on foot and notoriously tricky to reach, is 2.7 miles along the cliff path and draws walkers who prefer complete solitude.

Tintagel village is under 1.2 miles south-east of the barn. The ruined headland castle, managed by English Heritage, is associated with Arthurian legend and draws around 200,000 visitors per year. Rocky Valley, a narrow wooded gorge with twin waterfalls running down to the coast, is a short walk from the village and largely overlooked by tourists. Boscastle harbour, with its National Trust visitor centre and witchcraft museum, is about 3.7 miles north.

Ideal for couples wanting a remote north coast base with access to dramatic walking and the Tintagel heritage circuit. The single bedroom and compact footprint suit two people travelling light. Less good for those needing more space or access to surf beaches. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
