English Harbour

English Harbour is a second-floor, one-bedroom apartment at Carrack Widden, on the terrace above Porthminster Beach in St Ives. A large window in the open-plan living area frames the beach, and a bistro table stands beside it for morning coffee. The room also holds a sofa facing a 55 inch smart TV with Sky Q, Netflix and a PS4 with two controllers, and there is high-speed fibre broadband.

The kitchen has a glass dining table with four chairs, an electric oven and grill, a four-ring ceramic hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer, plus a dishwasher. The king-size bedroom is next to a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Owners leave a welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits and breakfast items, with a pint of milk in the fridge. Bed linen and towels, including beach towels, are provided, and fuel and power are included. A highchair and travel cot are available on request; bring your own cot bedding.

Parking is gated and covered, for one car, with a maximum width of 2.4m and a height limit of 2.02m at the entrance. From the car park an internal staircase of 34 steps leads up to the apartment. E-bikes and e-scooters cannot be stored or charged on the premises at any time. The shop, pub and beach are all 0.2 miles away.

It suits a couple, and it sleeps two. It is less good for anyone who would struggle with 34 steps. No pets and no smoking. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am.
