Fern Leaf Roundhouse, East Thorne

Fern Leaf Roundhouse is a two-bedroom lodge at East Thorne, near Bude, sleeping four. The roundhouse design gives it a distinct look among the park's other lodges - circular plan, curved walls, and the kind of interior that feels more cabin than cottage. A wood-fired hot tub and open fire are included, alongside a private garden with a BBQ.

Inside, the lodge holds two bedrooms and one bathroom, with a wood burner supplementing the open fire for warmth on cooler evenings. A washing machine is provided, and the site includes private parking. The circular layout keeps everything on one level. Dogs of any size are welcome.

Summerleaze Beach in Bude is 600 metres away - it has the tidal sea pool, a favourite for early-morning swims. Crooklets Beach, Bude's main surf beach, is around 0.6 miles. The town centre has independent shops, cafes and a castle heritage centre, all within a short walk. The South West Coast Path leaves Bude in both directions, with 30 miles of cliff walking accessible from here.

Best for couples or small families who want hot-tub glamping close to the coast, with proper beach access on foot and a cosy fire for evenings. Less good for those needing a conventional cottage layout or a full kitchen setup - the roundhouse is compact and the emphasis is on outdoor living.
