Finnygook Inn

The Finnygook Inn - known locally as "the Finny" - is a village pub B&B in Crafthole on the Rame Peninsula, close to the East Cornwall coast. En-suite rooms sit above a working bar and restaurant, making it a good base for a few nights exploring the quieter southeastern corner of Cornwall. Whitsand Bay is 2.9km away, with 5.1km to Downderry Beach.

The bar has low beams and an open fire in cooler months, and runs Tuesday to Saturday from midday, Monday from 4pm. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday, and Sunday lunch until 4pm - times can vary, so calling ahead is worthwhile. A renovated patio overlooks the Tamar valley on clear days. On-site parking and wifi are included.

The Rame Peninsula sits southeast of Plymouth, separated from the rest of Cornwall by the Tamar. Cawsand Beach is 7.9km away, and the South West Coast Path runs through the area. Plymouth is reachable by the Torpoint Ferry.

Best for couples or walkers wanting a pub-with-rooms base in a quiet village with easy access to Whitsand Bay and the coast path. Less good for guests wanting a self-catering kitchen, sea views from the room, or dog-friendly accommodation.
