Fourways is a four-bedroom semi-detached cottage in the rural village of Townshend, sleeping 8 in one king, one double and two twin rooms. It is filed under Marazion but sits inland near Hayle, on the agricultural side of the A30 rather than on the coast itself - worth knowing before you book.

Two bath/shower rooms cover eight people. The interior includes an open fire (logs not always supplied - check with the owner), Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine, and accessible features on the ground floor. Dogs are welcome throughout the cottage, which is rare for a property this size. A farm shop is within walking distance for milk and bread; for a full supermarket shop you will want the car.

Outside, an enclosed south-facing back garden gives a practical space for outdoor meals and for letting dogs run between walks. Off-road parking takes several cars. The position suits two families travelling together who want a base slightly inland from the coast, with quieter lanes and lower prices than the seafront properties.

Marazion Beach, looking across to St Michael's Mount, is around 5 miles by car. Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe and the three-mile sweep of Gwithian are all within 25 minutes. Hayle is 9 minutes away with independent shops and Philps Bakery; St Ives is a half-hour drive for galleries, the Tate and harbour boat trips.

Best for groups who want space and a fire-side garden over a sea view. Less good for car-free travellers - public transport here is thin.
