Foxs Folly

Fox's Folly is a detached cabin within the grounds of a working farmstead on the edge of Bodmin Moor, sleeping four in two double rooms. The cabin has its own garden with decking, a BBQ, and an enclosed area where ducks, chickens and sheep are visible from the terrace. Prices start from £415 a week.

Inside, the layout is compact but practical - two double bedrooms, one bathroom, a washing machine and wifi included. The cabin appeared in the Express Newspaper as a characterful rural retreat, and has 21 reviews averaging 4.5 stars. No dishwasher, but the kitchen is otherwise well equipped. Up to two dogs are allowed.

The closest beach is Widemouth Bay at 7.1 miles - a wide, flat-sand beach popular with surfers and families. Bude itself, with its canal, surf shops and Summerleaze Beach, is about 20 minutes by car to the north-west. Millook Beach, a narrower and quieter option, is 8 miles away.

Best for couples, families with children, or dog owners who want a working-farm feel close to north Cornwall's coast. Good for stargazing too - the farmstead sits in genuinely dark countryside. Less good for anyone expecting within-walking-distance access to the sea or a village pub.
