The cottage sits in a converted estate complex at the northern edge of Bodmin Moor, where the River Camel runs through wooded valley below. Wi-Fi, parking, dishwasher, and a garden are included. The one-bedroom layout with a sofa bed or single sleeps a couple with one child or three adults who are comfortable with the configuration.

Tredethy is a quiet hamlet between St Mabyn and Bodmin - agricultural mid-Cornwall rather than coastal tourism territory. The moor is accessible from the doorstep as walking country: open granite ridges, old farmland, and ancient standing stones on Brown Willy and Rough Tor, both reachable within an hour by car. The Camel Trail, one of Cornwall's most used cycling and walking routes, follows the former railway line from Bodmin to Padstow for 18 miles. Wadebridge, at the midpoint of the trail, is around 7km north-west.

Padstow is around 16km north, giving access to Rick Stein restaurants and the harbour without the need to stay in the town itself. Port Gaverne Beach, the nearest coastal access, is 10.8km away via Port Isaac - a small cove that functions as a quieter alternative to Port Isaac's main beach. Daymer Bay, 14.5km from the cottage, is a dune-backed estuary beach on the Camel estuary.

St Mabyn village, 3km from the cottage, has a pub and a village shop for basics. Bodmin, 7km south, covers supermarkets, a cinema, and a railway station with services to Plymouth and beyond.
