Genoa

Genoa is a duplex penthouse in The Spinnakers, a development of eight apartments on Valley Road on the seaward side of Carbis Bay. One small, well-behaved pet is welcome. The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area has floor-to-ceiling patio doors onto a slate-tiled balcony that seats four, with views over the bay to Godrevy Lighthouse.

There are three bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite walk-in shower, a ground-floor king-size and a ground-floor twin. The ground-floor bathroom has a bath with a shower over. The living area has underfloor heating and a 55-inch TV with Sky Glass, and the kitchen has a dishwasher, coffee machine and washer/dryer. Outside there is a terrace with furniture and a front lawn.

The entrance is private but reached by 16 steps, and the master bedroom and its en-suite are up a number of internal steps. Parking is off-road for one car. Shop 0.5 miles, pub 0.3 miles and beach 0.4 miles. A highchair and travel cot are available on request, and guests bring their own cot bedding. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out from 10am. Smoking is not allowed.

Stays of under seven days are not taken in school holidays or in July and August. A neighbouring property is having building work that will run into 2027, so there may be some noise. It suits a family of up to six with a small pet; it is less good for anyone who finds steps difficult.
