Gull Cottage

Gull Cottage is a mid-terrace three-bedroom cottage on Sarah's Court in Padstow village, sleeping four with one bathroom. Off-road parking for two cars is included - a significant practical advantage in a town where public car parks fill before 9am in July and August.

The cottage has a rear garden, washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Three bedrooms sleep four in a standard mid-terrace layout. One bathroom for four people is worth factoring in. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

Padstow harbour is a short walk from Sarah's Court. Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant and his fish and chip shop are both nearby, as is the Harbour Inn. The Camel Estuary ferry to Rock runs from the harbour in season. Trevone Bay is the nearest sandy beach at 1.8 miles - a cove with a rock pool at the north end and occasional surf. The Camel Trail cycle path runs from the edge of town to Wadebridge (5.5 miles) and onwards to Bodmin.

Rick Stein opened his first seafood restaurant in Padstow in 1975, and the town now holds several of his establishments alongside the working harbour. Each May Day it hosts the Obby Oss festival, one of Cornwall's oldest surviving customs, when the town fills and the streets become impassable for much of the day.

Best for two couples or a family with older children who want a central Padstow base without hunting for parking. Less good for anyone needing more bathroom capacity than one shared room.
