High Cove

High Cove is a detached lodge on Atlantic Bays Holiday Park, 1.9 miles from St Merryn.

The lodge is all on one level. Its open-plan main room combines a kitchen, a sitting area and a folding dining table, and the kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge. You get a TV with Freeview, a DVD player and DVDs, and a selection of books and games. One bedroom has a double bed; the other is a bunk room with a double below a single. A single bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. Heating is electric central heating, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

Step outside onto the decking or the patio area with furniture for meals in the open. Off-road parking is provided, though the park permits only one vehicle per booking and bans commercial vehicles. If you sign in at reception you can use the park's WiFi, but coverage is sometimes intermittent. Children under twelve have a dedicated play zone among the grounds. A shop and pub are 0.7 miles away and the nearest beach is 2.9 miles; Newquay is 11 miles from St Merryn.

Best for a family or two couples who like to keep everything on one floor. Anyone bringing a dog should look elsewhere, since pets are not accepted, and the lodge is no smoking throughout.
