Higher Hill House

Higher Hill House is a five-bedroom cottage in Crackington Haven, on the north Cornwall coast between Boscastle and Bude. The property sleeps eight adults plus two children, spread across three floors of a characterful older building with exposed beams and uneven period flooring.

The ground floor has a king-size bedroom, a walk-in shower room, and a snug with Smart TV. Upstairs, two further king-size rooms, a double, and a twin are served by a bathroom with bath and bidet. A woodburning stove anchors the sitting room, and there is a separate dining room alongside the kitchen-diner with electric Range cooker and coffee machine. The twin bedroom connects through the king-size and has its own staircase down to the sitting room.

An enclosed rear garden has a barbecue, outdoor furniture, and a rockery. The front garden is also enclosed. Off-road parking takes three small or two large cars. Crackington Haven Beach - a sand-and-shingle cove with folded rock formations and surf in bigger swells - is 2.3km away. Millook Beach, known for its dramatically contorted cliff strata, lies 6.5km to the north.

The hamlet has the Coombe Barton Inn and a small cafe. The coast path from here crosses High Cliff (731 feet), the highest sheer cliff in Cornwall. Two small dogs are welcome.
