Lakeside Rest

Lakeside Rest is a Scandinavian-style timber lodge for four in Kilkhampton, around five miles north-east of Bude. One double and one twin bedroom share a single bathroom, and double doors open from the lounge onto a private patio with lake views. The lounge has a sofa, two armchairs and a Smart TV with a DVD player, and the kitchen is fully equipped. The patio has a table and chairs.

A charcoal barbecue sits on the patio, and Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and EV charging are included; dogs are not accepted. Shared leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and games room, along with a tennis court, children's play area, playing fields, woodland and coarse-fishing lakes - enough ground to fill a wet-weather day without leaving the site.

Tamar Lakes walking routes start about a mile from the lodge, and Kilkhampton's village pub is a 2.5-mile walk. Sandymouth Beach is 4.6 miles away, Duckpool Beach 4.7 miles and Northcott Mouth 4.9 miles, each requiring a short drive. Bude, with its Summerleaze sea pool and surf beaches, is 8 miles from the site.

The lounge, kitchen and bathroom are on the ground floor, with both bedrooms upstairs. **Best for:** a small family wanting shared leisure facilities, fishing lakes and a lake-view patio. **Less good for:** guests wanting a beach within a short walk.
