Lentino

Lentino stands on a hill above the village of Polruan on the east bank of the Fowey estuary. The three-bedroom cottage sleeps six across a double room and two twin rooms with single beds, sharing one bathroom. A lawn wraps around the exterior with views down to the harbour and the water beyond.

Polruan is a working village with a small shop, two pubs, and a foot ferry that crosses to Fowey town throughout the day. Fowey offers independent restaurants, galleries, a bookshop and the Hall Walk - one of the most highly regarded short walks in south Cornwall, with estuary views throughout.

Readymoney Cove, a compact sandy beach in a sheltered inlet, is 700 metres on foot. Lantic Bay - a larger National Trust beach accessible only via a steep coastal path - is 1.2 miles along the cliff. Lansallos, another undeveloped cove in National Trust ownership, is 2.5 miles. The entire stretch of coast here is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The cottage is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, and Wi-Fi. Dogs are welcome and the village’s footpaths connect directly to the wider coastal path network without driving.

Suits families or groups of six who want a quieter base than Fowey itself, with good access to the ferry and coast. Not great for guests who want parking right at the door or for those needing a large accessible bathroom. Rated 4 for cleanliness, equipment, comfort and location.
