Lerryn Cottage

Lerryn Cottage is a four-bedroom cottage for eight beside the upper Fowey River in Lerryn, a creek village reached by a ford or footbridge about 2 miles south of Lostwithiel. Upper-floor rooms look across the village green and the tidal creek, and a private hot tub sits on the decked terrace.

The bedrooms comprise a fixed super-king-size, a super-king-size zip-and-link that converts to a twin, a king-size and a twin, though all eight guests share a single bathroom. A wood burner heats the lounge, and a separate snug has beanbag seating. Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher, washing machine and barbecue are provided, and up to two dogs are accepted.

The village pub, the Ship Inn, sits at the water's edge; Kenneth Grahame drew on Lerryn's wooded creeks for "The Wind in the Willows" after visiting in 1907. Lostwithiel, with its medieval bridge and Restormel Castle, is 2 miles north, and Fowey is 5 miles south along the river.
