Portreath Beach is 3.6km away, a surf beach backed by low cliffs with a pub and shop at the car park. The beach is popular with bodyboarders and suits families during the summer season.

Redruth town centre, 3 miles south-east, has a mainline station on the London Paddington line via Truro, making this property accessible without a car for rail arrivals. The Great Flat Lode trail - a 7-mile circular cycling and walking route through the UNESCO World Heritage mining landscape - starts near Carn Brea and passes within 2 miles of the property. Camborne's Trevithick Day and the annual Redruth Christmas lights attract visitors in spring and December.
