Little Phoenix

Little Phoenix is a one-bedroom reverse-level house near Talland Bay on the south Cornwall coast, sleeping two and accepting dogs. The reverse-level layout puts the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space on the upper floor, opening onto a balcony with dual-aspect sea and countryside views. A second deck runs off the downstairs bedroom - handy for dogs needing a morning sniff before the day starts.

Inside, the single bedroom and bathroom sit on the lower level, with all the main living space upstairs where the views are. Wi-Fi, parking and a washing machine are included. EV charging is also available - increasingly useful along this stretch of the south coast where public charging points are limited.

Talland Bay Beach is a short walk down the hill - a mixed sand and shingle beach with a gentle water line suited to paddleboarding, kayaking and swimming. The Talland Bay Beach Cafe operates from a row of beach huts and makes an easy stop on the way back up. The South West Coast Path runs along this stretch of coast, linking Talland Bay to Polperro in under 2 miles in one direction and Looe in the other.

Best for: couples with a dog, sea-view seekers, and EV drivers wanting a quiet coastal base. Less good for: anyone with mobility concerns given the reverse-level layout and beach path gradient.
