Little Pippin

Little Pippin is a two-storey one-bedroom cottage at Carlyon Bay, sleeping two with one bathroom. The cottage sits roughly 100 metres from the beach, with a south-facing garden and a BBQ for warmer evenings. Wi-Fi, parking, dishwasher, and washing machine are all included. Changeover is Friday.

Carlyon Bay is on Cornwall's sheltered south coast - the beach here faces east across St Austell Bay and is generally calmer than the north coast surf beaches. It has a long sandy stretch at low tide and good swimming conditions for most of the season. Charlestown Harbour is around 0.6 miles along the coast path: a Georgian working harbour still used for tall ship filming and with an active shipwreck diving scene.

Porthpean Beach is 1.3 miles further along the coast, a quieter cove with a sailing club and cafe. The Eden Project is roughly 2.2 miles inland by car and takes under 10 minutes from the cottage. Mevagissey is about 3.7 miles south, a working fishing village with a harbour and several fish restaurants.

Good for couples who want a beach holiday on the south coast with easy access to St Austell and the Eden Project. Not great for groups larger than two, or for guests who want surf - the south coast is sheltered rather than Atlantic-facing.
