Boscastle sits where the River Valency meets the sea through a narrow, winding inlet - one of the few natural harbours on this section of north Cornwall's coast. The village was largely rebuilt after the 2004 flash flood and now has a National Trust visitor centre, a pub, a cafe, and several small shops. The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic on the harbour road is one of the most visited niche museums in Britain.

Bossiney Cove Beach is 2.2 miles along the coastal path - a tucked-away beach reached by a steep descent, accessible only on foot. Crackington Haven, a wider sandy beach with a seasonal cafe, is 4.7 miles further north. The south-west coast path here follows dramatic cliff tops above sea stacks and rock arches.

Good for walkers and couples wanting an inland village setting with coastal access nearby. Suits guests who prefer a quiet, historic village to a resort. Less good for those wanting beach access without a drive or substantial walk - Bossiney requires a 2.2 miles hike each way. Two well-behaved pets are welcome. Friday changeover.
