The harbour at Boscastle is an unusually narrow sea inlet between cliffs, accessed through a dogleg that shelters it from Atlantic swells. The Museum of Witchcraft and Natural Magic sits at the waterside and holds one of the largest collections of witchcraft-related artefacts in the world. The National Trust operates much of the surrounding valley.
The South West Coast Path runs in both directions from the village. The route south passes through Rocky Valley and reaches Tintagel in about 7 miles. North leads to Crackington Haven in about 5 miles, a small beach with a cafe and dramatic cliff scenery. Bossiney Cove is 2.3 miles south along the path.
Ideal for a couple wanting a village cottage within a short walk of the harbour and coast path access. The open fire makes it a practical choice in winter and spring. One pet is welcome. Not great for guests who need a large outdoor space, as the garden is compact. Saturday changeover.
