One-bedroom cottage near Warbstow, set inland on the edge of Bodmin Moor between Launceston and Boscastle. Sleeps two.

The interior is a single-storey layout: one bedroom, one bathroom, and a kitchen-living room warmed by a log fire. Wifi, dishwasher and washing machine are all included.

A private garden and patio give a sheltered outdoor space, with private parking on site. The setting is rural rather than coastal - a short drive inland from Boscastle - so this is a walking and countryside base, not somewhere to step out of the door onto a beach.

Warbstow sits about 8 miles south of Bude and 9 miles north of Launceston, in dairy and beef farmland connected by narrow lanes. There is no pub or shop in the village itself, so Camelford to the south and Bude to the north are the nearest places to stock up.

Warbstow Bury, the second-largest Iron Age hillfort in Cornwall, sits within walking distance for a short out-and-back. Its earthwork ramparts enclose an oval interior on high ground, and the site is free to walk into, with views over the Ottery valley and toward the coast on clear days. Boscastle harbour is around 15 minutes east by car, Crackington Haven beach similar to the north, and Tintagel Castle roughly 20 minutes south. Bude and its sea pool sit about 30 minutes north. Best for: dog-owning couples wanting a quiet rural base with the north coast within easy driving range. Less good for: anyone wanting to walk to the sea.
