Meadowcroft

Meadowcroft is a traditional fisherman's cottage on the West Looe side of the harbour, arranged over three floors and sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms. The multi-level layout keeps bedrooms and living space on separate floors - worth knowing for anyone travelling with older guests or young children, since the internal stairs are typical of Looe's older cottages.

The interior retains its original character, with two bedrooms sharing a single bathroom and a kitchen and living area set across the lower floors. Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are all included, and the cottage accepts dogs. An enclosed courtyard sits off the back of the property - a useful extra in a central village location where most terraced cottages have no outdoor space at all. West Looe's working harbour is a short walk from the cottage, where the fishing fleet still lands daily. The town beach at East Looe sits across the bridge, with Plaidy and Hannafore beaches further along the coast in each direction. Parking is not included, so the main Looe town car parks are the practical option. The South West Coast Path passes through the town, connecting Polperro to the west and Seaton and Downderry to the east.

Best for: couples or small families wanting a characterful central base in Looe with a dog. Less good for: guests with limited mobility given the three-floor layout, or anyone needing on-site parking.
