Meadowsweet

Meadowsweet sits in an elevated position above Looe and sleeps four across two king-size bedrooms, one of which can be split into twins on request. A single bathroom serves the cottage, worth noting when all four guests are up at once.

Views reach across the river and rooftops to the sea beyond, and two raised decks plus a lawn give several places to sit outside. WiFi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included alongside parking and a barbecue, and up to two dogs can stay.

East Looe Beach is 400 metres away, a sheltered stretch of sand behind the harbour walls that is lifeguarded through summer and works well for families. Hannafore Beach, known for some of the best rock pools in Cornwall, is 0.6 miles, and Plaidy Beach, a quieter mixed sand-and-shingle cove, is 0.9 miles.

Looe's working harbour still lands fish daily, and boat trips run out to Looe Island, a Cornwall Wildlife Trust reserve with grey seals and nesting seabirds, in summer months.

**Best for:** Four guests wanting a flexible second bedroom, elevated river views, two outdoor decks and East Looe Beach within walking distance.

**Less good for:** Groups wanting more than one bathroom, step-free access, or fireside features.
