Merlins Cottage Tintagel

Merlins Cottage is a four-bedroom cottage for eight surrounded by National Trust farmland outside Tintagel, with panoramic Atlantic views across the fields. A ground-floor king-size zip-and-link room sits alongside two doubles and a twin zip-and-link, and three bathrooms serve the group.

A private hot tub sits in the garden alongside a barbecue, and the lounge has a wood burner plus a separate open fire for after days on the coast path. Parking, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included, and dogs are accepted. A games room has a table tennis table, and private parking holds up to four cars. The kitchen/diner has flagstone flooring and an open fire.

Bossiney Cove is 1.3 miles away, Tregardock Beach is 2.4 miles and Port Gaverne Beach is 5.3 miles. Tintagel Castle, the English Heritage ruins linked to the Arthurian legend, is reached by a footbridge spanning a 58-metre gorge, and the South West Coast Path runs directly past the village.

Rocky Valley, reached from Bossiney car park, holds ruined mills and rock-carved labyrinths thought to be more than 3,000 years old, and St Nectan's Glen, with its 60-foot waterfall, is a short drive from the cottage.

**Best for:** A group wanting four bedrooms, a private hot tub, two fire features and direct coast-path access.

**Less good for:** Guests needing verified step-free access.
