The Tintagel area draws visitors for its headland castle ruins and dramatic cliff scenery - the property puts you within reach of the north Cornish coast without the parking queues of Tintagel village itself.

Bossiney Cove Beach is 1.7 miles - a small sand beach reached via a path down the cliffs, with no facilities and limited parking at the top. Tregardock Beach is 1.9 miles, one of the most remote beaches on the north coast, reached only at low tide via a steep descent. Both suit guests who are happy walking to find a quiet spot rather than driving to a managed beach.

The property has Wi-Fi, dishwasher, and washing machine. Parking is on the road nearby and is first come, first served. The cottage is approached through a gate and five steep stone steps with a rope handrail, and the ground-floor flagstones can be uneven in places.

Port Gaverne, a small cove 4.9 miles south, offers a calmer alternative to the exposed north coast beaches for days when the Atlantic swell is up. The 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms work well for two families or a mixed-generation group. The courtyard garden gives an outdoor space for evening meals after walking days on the coastal path.

Best for groups of up to 8 who want a solid base near Tintagel with good kitchen facilities and outdoor space. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Friday changeover.
