Mizzen Cottage

Mizzen Cottage sits in an elevated position above the River Looe in Looe, sleeping 4 across a king-size and a twin with zip-and-link beds (convertible to a super-king on request). The living room has floor-to-ceiling windows opening to a balcony with river views, and the kitchen-diner also overlooks the water. A sheltered rear garden with BBQ and decking provides an outdoor dining area.

East Looe Beach is 200 metres on foot - the closest of three beaches within 0.7 miles. Hannafore Beach, a west-facing sandy cove, is 0.6 miles along the seafront. National Trust boat trips to Looe Island - a 22-acre island nature reserve half a mile offshore - leave from the nearby quay in season. The fishing village of Polperro is 5 miles east along the coast and worth the drive for its narrow streets and harbour restaurants.

The cottage has a dishwasher, washing machine, and parking on-site. Dogs are not accepted. The twin’s zip-and-link configuration means it doubles as sleeping for a couple or two singles.

Good for couples or two friends who want a harbour-town base with a beach within 5 minutes and river views from the living area. Also suits guests wanting on-site parking and a private garden for outdoor meals. Less good for dog owners, or those who need more than 1 bathroom for 4 guests.
