Moiety Cross

Moiety Cross is a six-bedroom country house for twelve beside St Enodoc Golf Course in Rock. Two lounges and a hidden bookcase door give a large group room to spread out. The kitchen has a range cooker, dishwasher and breakfast bar, with a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room.

Two staircases lead to the bedrooms: two super-kings, two twins, one queen and one king. There are four bathrooms, including two en-suites, plus two separate WCs. Two wood burners have a starter supply of logs. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request; bring cot linen.

The private garden has patios, a charcoal BBQ and a netted pond. Beyond it, grounds shared with Little Moiety include a tennis court, paddocks and an outdoor fire area. There is private parking, and two dogs can stay; check any pet charge when booking. Families should consider the pond when choosing this house.

Rock Beach is half a mile away by footpath, with Daymer Bay further along the shore. The provider puts Polzeath two miles away by road. Shops and pubs are within half a mile.

Best for: Extended families wanting six bedrooms, two lounges and tennis. Less good for: Guests needing a ground-floor bedroom or exclusive use of the tennis court.
