Moonrakers

Moonrakers is a one-bedroom apartment for two on the fourth floor of an Edwardian house in Fowey. The king bedroom and single bathroom suit a couple, and the lounge looks out across Fowey harbour and the river mouth. A fourth-floor position is worth noting: guests should confirm the number of stairs before booking, as no lift is mentioned.

There is no WiFi, dishwasher or washing machine, and the apartment is not dog-friendly. Parking is included, though, a genuine advantage in a town where street parking is limited and much of the centre is pedestrianised. A garden gives some outdoor space beyond the harbour-view lounge.

Readymoney Cove is 300m away, an easy walk down through town. Lantic Bay is 1.6 miles from the apartment and Lansallos Beach 2.9 miles, both better reached by car or on the coast path than on foot from the flat. Fowey's harbourside shops, the passenger ferry across to Polruan and the working port that still handles china clay cargo are all within easy reach on foot.

**Best for:** a couple wanting harbour views, included parking and a central Fowey base for walking the town and coast path.

**Less good for:** guests needing a lift, laundry facilities, WiFi or a dog-friendly stay.
