The nearest coast is Penberth Cove, 2.1 miles south - a compact fishing inlet with a granite slipway and hand-winched boats still hauled up in the traditional way. It is one of the few inlets in west Cornwall where working fishing boats continue to operate from a beach capstan. Pedn Vounder is 2.4 miles away, a sheltered sandy cove below the cliffs, and Porthcurno - with its open-air Minack Theatre carved into the clifftop - is about 2.7 miles. The South West Coast Path passes close by, and the interior of Penwith has several Bronze Age sites within a short drive.

St Buryan itself has a pub, a medieval church with a notable carved rood screen, and a small cluster of local shops. Penzance and its rail connections are roughly 5 miles to the east.

Best for groups of up to 6 who want a quiet base in the far west with beach access under 15 minutes by car. Less good for guests wanting dog-friendly accommodation or a sea view from the cottage itself. Changeover is Saturday.
