Nobbys Cottage, East Thorne

Nobbys Cottage is a two-bedroom property for four at the East Thorne resort near Bude. One bathroom serves the group, and a wood burner gives the living space a focal point on cooler evenings. The cottage has a garden, a barbecue, parking and WiFi. Dogs are not accepted. The master bedroom has a double bed and the second has twin beds, both on the first floor beside the family bathroom, which has a shower. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 10am, and there is one step up into the cottage.

A washing machine is useful for longer stays. The resort itself adds an adventure playground, a games room and a communal campfire area, shared facilities that work well for families with children of different ages.

Summerleaze Beach, with its tidal sea pool, is 0.4 miles away, Crooklets Beach 0.6 miles and Northcott Mouth Beach 1.4 miles. Bude's beaches sit at the midpoint of over 30 miles of South West Coast Path, and the 19th-century Bude Canal, now used for kayaking, runs inland from the harbour.
