Ocean Cove

Ocean Cove is a penthouse apartment close to Carbis Bay Beach, with panoramic views taking in St Ives harbour and Godrevy Lighthouse from most rooms and terraces. Floor-to-ceiling patio doors in the open-plan living and dining area lead to a small balcony, and a serving hatch links the kitchen to the table for six. Binoculars are provided for watching the bay. The apartment stands in Carbis Bay.

It sleeps 6 guests across three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom: two doubles with Hypnos beds, one of them with a bath and walk-in shower en suite, and a twin whose en suite is a wet room. The master and the second bedroom are upstairs and open onto a large seaward terrace, while the twin at the rear has its own sun terrace. Gas central heating, bed linen, towels and fuel and power are included, and a cot and highchair are provided for guests who bring their own cot bedding.

Off-road parking is for one car, and the front door is up 12 steps with a hand rail. A carpeted staircase of 13 steps leads to the upstairs bedrooms. Children under the age of 5 are not accepted, and there are no pets and no smoking. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am.

It suits two or three couples or a family with older children, but the steps and the age limit make it less good for young families.
