Ocean Shore

Ocean Shore is a one-bedroom apartment on the second floor at Carrack Widden, in St Ives, looking over Porthminster Beach. The living area has a large window with two armchairs by the window, and the kitchen and dining space share the same open-plan room, with a round glass-topped table and four chairs. A 40-inch smart TV and a DVD and Blu-ray player provide the evening entertainment.

The king-size bedroom is dressed in Egyptian cotton and has plenty of storage. Next to it, the shower room has a walk-in rain shower and underfloor heating, while the rest of the apartment is heated electrically. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine, and a coin-operated tumble dryer is in the shared external utility at the back of the building. It sleeps two, and a cot and highchair are available for an infant; guests bring their own cot bedding.

The shop is 0.2 miles away, and the pub and beach are 0.3 miles. There is off-road parking for one car in a secure car park, and an internal staircase of 34 steps leads from it up to the apartment. The covered car park takes vehicles up to 2.4m wide, with a height limit of 2.02m at the entrance. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am. Pets are not allowed and the apartment is non-smoking.

It suits a couple, or a couple with a baby, but the 34 steps make it less good for anyone who wants to avoid stairs.
