Penhaven

Penhaven is a two-bedroom stone cottage in Coverack on the eastern side of the Lizard, sleeping 4 across 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. An open fire in the sitting room makes it a practical choice outside peak season, and the enclosed rear garden gives dogs room to run. Changeover is Friday.

Coverack Beach is 300m from the front door - a sheltered shingle and sand cove that sits directly below the village. The water here is clear enough for swimming when the swell is down. Porthoustock Beach, used mostly by locals, is 4.3km north. Cadgwith, a working crab-fishing village with thatched cottages, is 7.2km south.

Inside, the cottage has Wi-Fi, parking, dishwasher, and washing machine. No hot tub or pool. Dogs are welcome with no stated limit from the listing.

Coverack itself is one of the quieter harbour settlements on the eastern Lizard - no through road, no chain shops, one pub. The Paris Hotel, named after a ship that ran aground on the Manacles reef in 1899, sits at the top of the village. The reef itself is visible from the coast path and is one of the most notorious dive sites in Cornwall.

Suitable for couples or small families who want direct beach access without the crowds of the more visited coves on the north Lizard. Less good for those needing multiple bathrooms or wanting evening entertainment within walking distance. The Friday changeover fits a long-weekend stay from Friday to Monday without burning the full week rate.
