Pennine is a Grade II listed stone cottage in the village of Veryan on the Roseland, sleeping 4 across 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. The sitting room has an open fire and the enclosed garden has space for sitting out. Parking for one car at the property. No dogs. Saturday changeover.

Carne Beach is 1 mile away - a long National Trust beach on the south side of the Roseland peninsula, with a car park at the top of the dunes. Pendower Beach, which adjoins Carne at low tide, is 1.4 miles. Together they form one of the longest stretches of sand on the south Cornish coast, roughly 1.5 miles from end to end. Porthluney Bay, further west near Caerhays Castle, is 3.9 miles.

Veryan village sits in the middle of the Roseland peninsula away from the main road. Its five round-house cottages - four at the village entrance and one on the far side - were built in the 19th century and are Grade II listed in their own right. The Grade I listed Church of St Symphorian is at the centre. It is a self-contained village with limited facilities, though the King's Head pub is within walking distance.

Falmouth and the National Maritime Museum are around 12 miles west. St Mawes, the main ferry point for the Roseland, is a short drive. The King Harry Ferry across the Fal is 4 miles north, cutting journey times to Truro and Falmouth significantly.

Suits couples or small families who want a quiet, inland Roseland base with the Carne and Pendower beaches accessible by foot. Less good for dog owners or anyone needing more than one bathroom. The Grade II listing suggests the cottage retains period features.
