Pentreath

Pentreath on West Pentire Road in Crantock is one of the closest holiday properties to the sand - Crantock Beach is 400m on foot. The cottage sleeps 8 across 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms, which is a rare 1:1 ratio that removes a common source of holiday friction. The whole house is on one floor, but three steps lead down to a path serving the front and rear entrances, so it does not offer step-free entry.

Inside, the cottage has a wood burner and an open fire - useful for the shoulder seasons when evenings get cool fast. There is also a BBQ and a garden for warmer days. Wi-Fi, parking, and a dishwasher are all included. Two well-behaved pets are welcome at a charge of £40 per pet.

The beach is a wide south-facing bay backed by dunes. Surf conditions are milder than Fistral, which is 1 mile across the headland. Vugga Cove is 0.7 miles along the coast path - a smaller, rockier cove that is quieter than Crantock in peak season. Porth Joke (Polly Joke) is 0.9 miles west - a National Trust beach that stays car-free by design, which keeps the crowds lower than nearby beaches.

Best for families needing multiple bathrooms and proximity to a safe beach. Ideal for groups who want a single-storey layout and can manage the three steps to the entrances. Sunday changeover.
