Pentref is a three-bedroom self-catering cottage in St Just-in-Roseland, on the Roseland peninsula a short drive from St Mawes. The cottage sleeps six and suits families or two couples wanting a south coast rural base - dogs are welcome throughout.

Inside, the accessible ground-floor layout spreads across three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The living space opens towards the garden, giving the cottage a practical, easy flow for groups with young children or anyone who needs level access.

Outside, private parking and a garden round out the setup. St Just-in-Roseland itself is known for its tidal creek churchyard, consistently rated among the most photographed small churches in England. The South West Coast Path runs past the creek and along the estuary shore towards St Mawes.

St Mawes - with its 16th-century castle, ferry crossing to Falmouth and a compact cluster of pubs and fish restaurants - is a short drive north. The broader Roseland stays noticeably quieter than the north coast, with working farms, narrow lanes and small coves rather than surf schools and arcades. Truro is within 12 miles; the Eden Project around 20.

Best for families or dog-owning couples wanting a south coast base with good road access. Less ideal for those who want to walk straight from the door to a sandy beach.
