Pier Cottage

Pier Cottage is a 2-bedroom cottage on Marine Parade in St Mawes, sleeping four with two bathrooms and direct bay views from the sitting room. The cottage sits 100m from St Mawes beach and the waterfront, with the ferry to Falmouth departing from the pier just below.

Inside, the layout is "upside down": the sitting room, dining area and kitchen are on the first floor, while both bedrooms and the bathroom are on the ground floor. Wifi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are all included. Dogs are welcome. There is no parking at the cottage, but a public car park is nearby. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms work well for two couples or a small family.

St Mawes itself has a Tudor castle, several restaurants, and the foot ferry that crosses the Fal estuary to Falmouth in around 20 minutes. Little and Great Molunan beaches are 0.9 miles along the Roseland coast, while Castle Beach is 1.9 miles. The Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick runs ticketed feast nights through the summer months - worth booking in advance.

St Mawes castle, maintained by English Heritage, is a five-minute walk along the waterfront and open most days.

Best for couples or small families who want a village base with sea views and easy access to both the Roseland and Falmouth. Less good for groups needing more than four beds or those wanting direct beach access from the door.
