Sail Loft (Marine Parade)

Sail Loft is a three-bedroom cottage just off Marine Parade in St Mawes, sleeping five over two floors. Two king-size bedrooms and one single share two bathrooms, with sea views from an elevated decked terrace in the private rear garden. Cornish Traditional Cottages describes steps up into the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area and carpeted stairs to the first floor, so the layout is not step-free. Pets are not accepted.

An open fire anchors the living space, with wi-fi, dishwasher, and washing machine included. The garden combines a Cornish stone patio at ground level with the raised deck above it. Note that the cottage does not have its own parking - St Mawes village parking is nearby on the seafront.

St Mawes' south-facing beaches, the harbour, and the sailing club (temporary membership available) are all a short walk away. A year-round passenger ferry crosses to Falmouth, and a summer ferry runs to St Anthony across the Percuil River. St Mawes Castle - Henry VIII's most complete coastal fort - is a short walk around the waterfront.

Hotel Tresanton's restaurant is a few minutes' walk (advance booking recommended for non-residents), and the Idle Rocks hotel also has a well-regarded kitchen. Walks follow the estuary banks to the church at St Just in Roseland. The Hidden Hut beach cafe at Porthcurnick is a short drive along the Roseland. Prices from £840 per week.

Best for couples or families who want a well-positioned base in St Mawes with sea views and the ferry to Falmouth on foot. Less good for those needing on-site parking.
