Phenests

Phenests is a three-bedroom semi-detached house on Boscundle Avenue in the Goldenbank area of Falmouth, sleeping five across three bedrooms with one bathroom. The kitchen, utility room and sitting room are on the ground floor, with the three bedrooms and shower room on the first floor, and the driveway holds three cars - a real advantage in Falmouth where central summer parking can mean a 20-minute walk from a public car park. An enclosed garden gives the group outdoor space.

Inside, a kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, Wi-Fi, and heating are included. The house sleeps five with three bedrooms across two floors. Two well-behaved pets are welcome. There is no downstairs WC. Saturday changeover.

Swanpool Beach is 800 metres (half a mile) away - a sheltered south-facing sandy bay with a freshwater lagoon behind it and a seafront cafe at the car park. Gyllyngvase Beach is 0.7 miles, the larger of Falmouth's town beaches with a beach cafe and water sports hire in season. Maenporth Beach is 1.1 miles, quieter and good for children. The town centre - National Maritime Museum Cornwall, the main high street, and the harbour restaurants - is around 1.2 miles on foot or a short drive.

Best for: families or small groups needing off-street parking for multiple vehicles, within reach of Falmouth's quieter south-facing beaches. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking. Less good for: guests wanting to be in the heart of town - Goldenbank is a residential area a 20-minute walk from the harbour.
