East Looe Beach is 400m downhill - a sheltered sandy stretch with consistent family-friendly conditions. Looe is split by its river estuary: East Looe has the beach, the main shopping street, and most of the restaurants; West Looe is quieter, with the harbour and Hannafore Beach. The coastal path west towards Polperro covers around 4 miles of clifftop walking, passing Talland Bay on the way. Looe Island sits 0.6 miles offshore and is managed as a nature reserve by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

The area has a branch-line railway from Liskeard that takes 30 minutes, which makes Pixie Cottage easy to reach without a car, though parking is provided. Hannafore Beach is 0.7 miles and Plaidy Beach 0.8 miles from the property.

Best for: couples or solo travellers wanting a compact base with sea-town character, good beach access, and walkable convenience. The three floors are linked by stairs, so it is not suited to guests who need step-free access. Less good for those wanting countryside quiet or space for more than two - the layout is tight, and there are no outdoor areas.
